In-person notary
A signing, identified and certified. Not advised.
ABBA Financials schedules in-person notarizations for documents you already have. The notary checks identity, willingness, and awareness, then completes the certificate the document calls for.
Bring with you
- The complete document, not a blank form you want filled in.
- A current government photo ID. The name should match the document.
- Every signer who must appear. A notary cannot identify someone who is not present.
- Any witnesses the document itself requires, in addition to the notary.
Outside the notary’s role
- Choosing which legal form you need, or drafting one.
- Telling you whether the terms are fair or what you should sign.
- Giving immigration, family-law, or real-estate advice.
- Notarizing your own signature, or a signature already signed out of the notary’s presence when the act requires personal appearance.
